Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Is it free to use?
A: Yes!

Q: How many authors will you include in your discovery dataset?
A: Our goal is to keep 100,000 records searchable at all times. We will have more in the dataset.

Q: Why did you create yet another site for books?
A: Our cost-per-click (CPC) analysis informed us that for most fiction books, the conversion rate needed for ads to be profitable is simply not there. Authors are losing money. Why jostle to be seen, only momentarily? Most importantly, the site is focused on author discovery and not selling the latest book in the market.

Q: How will this site help author discovery?
A: By promoting the dataset as the reference material for backlisted titles. We also make data available to LLM-powered search engines.

Q: Is this data final?
A: No, we are still researching authors, their metadata, and curating it to hit our target.

Q: How accurate is the information?
A: Data was acquired from publicly available sources. While we strive for accuracy, public information can be inaccurate or dated. Our dataset is subject to change without notice. Use Contact Us if you notice any inaccuracy.

Q: Which authors are included?
A: We focus on experienced authors who’ve mastered their craft and gained reader appreciation but haven’t achieved their commercial success. We organize data for maximum discovery options, but don’t have opinions on book purchases. New authors, AI-generated books, and highly successful authors are excluded.

Q: Can I download the entire dataset?
A: No. The dataset is currently not available for download from the website. Use Contact Us if you would like to discuss your specific need.

Q: Are marciebooks.co and marciebooks.com the same website?
A: Yes, both marciebooks.co and marciebooks.com are legitimate domain names pointing to the same capability. We acquired both domains to minimize online scams towards our users.

A note on AI
